Southern California Trails

  • Otay Ranch - #OtayRanch

Socal - San Diego County - Chula Vista NickNames: #OtayRanch

Take the I-805 to Telegraph canyon. Take Telegraph Canyon all the way till you reach Eastlake drive I think. Just take a right at the Eastlake homefinding center. Park at the highschool or the park. Thomas Guide page 1311

    • Trail UpdateSean-These trails are slowly disappearing due to the construction around Eastlake. Most of the trails left are around lower Otay Lake. There are still plenty of single track areas for an experienced and new rider. During winter time there is duck hunting on the lake so a word to the wise would tell you not to go there. The snakes have virtually disappeared since last summer. The trails are in real good condition, I think they are kept up by the Olympic training center. I have seen the olympic racers on the trails quit often, just get out of their way quick.

    • Trail UpdateEastlake Trails-Once you park at the school go right until the road comes to an end and there is a trail on the left. Keep to the left every time it forks. After some trails where I have come across cows on the trail you will come across some trailers on some small paved road. Continue to go on this road till the trail goes of to the left. If you keep going the trail ends at this small cliff or you can bike down to a small SDG&E building. If you go left there is a real fun ditch with water at the bottom. It is easy from this side but try going the other way. You could ride all the way to the Arco Olympic Center if you want. If you go left there is a long up-hill which will lead to a road, turn right and take you first left. After a short up-hill there is a long downhill which will end at the highschool again. It is all large trails but it is not to difficult but fun and builds up endurance.
