Southern California Trails

  • Cabrillo Hills - #CabrilloHills

Socal - San Luis Obispo County - Morro Bay NickNames: #CabrilloHills

Starting on Los Osos Valley Rd. heading west, take a right onto South Bay Blvd. heading towards Morro Bay. Continue on South Bay Blvd. past Turri Rd. but before you reach Twin Bridges (which is now only one bridge). Off to the right there will be a dirt parking area and trail map, ect. The area is composed of nice rolling hills overlooking the bay, watch out for ticks.

    • Trail UpdateCabrillo Hills - Morro Bay-walked alone on 8-22-99, along the main trail -- beautiful view of the estuary. since i would prefer some company, i didn't walk longer than an hour. after my hike, i found 9 ticks on myself! check yourself thoroughly after venturing in this area.

    • Trail UpdateYou can pick up a copy of the trail map in the parking area and from that decide what you want to ride and where you want to end up. I recommend taking the trail from the parking area to the Chumash trail and take the Crespi Trail loop back to the Chumash trail, which will put you onto Turri Rd. Take a right onto Turri Rd. and you will end up back onto South Bay Blvd. From there you can ride back to the car. Most of the trails have been recently repaired and are in excellent condition. They have also added some trails which are not on the map yet. The Crespi trail will take you into a beautiful oak grove with a stream running through it (might be seasonal).
