• Trail UpdateCircle X Ranch-Rocky, Steap - Took a new trail this weekend. Saw it listed in Mountain Biking L.A. County shown as ride number 32. If you have nerves of steel, then this ride is for you. The book lists this as 'Strenuous', but does it say 'Ridable'? Take into consideration gale force winds on a crystal clear day, this ride turned out to be a hike. After tackling the first 100 yards, we noticed only the footprints of hikers. This might have an indication of the rest of the mile and a half jaunt to the summit of Sand Stone peak. Some sections of trail were ridable, others were too rocky and rutty for climbing on bike. Hike-a-bike seemed the quickest mode in which to tackle this monster.
  I must say, after reaching the peak and enjoying a breath taking view, the downhill ride was AWESOME. This recieves a high mark in the technical handbook. Good luck to you.
