    • Trail UpdateGoldCreek/YerbaBuenaRd/VogelFlat-I rode from Gold Creek Road to Yerba Buena Road, not the singletrack, (which is steep, gravely and really loaded with ticks). From Big Tujunga to the saddle is about 4 miles then another 2 miles down and another 2 to 3 miles up Yerba Buena Rd. Then down Yerba Buena Rd. to Foothill then left on Oro Vista to Big Tujunga back to Vogel Flat for a total of 24.5 miles.

This ride took five hours and was strenous because of the heat. Also there was a fair amount of hiking involved on the climb up Yerba Buena Road because of a landslide that washed out the road. It is dangerous but passable. A bowling pin (yes) and a Gatorade bottle indicated I wasn't the only on through here recently.
I rode on down and back to Vogel Flat where I left my wheel. It was a Hope hub w/14/15 db spokes and a Mavic 317 rim and a IRC Mythos tire and duct tape as a rim strip. Itf you have it please contact me.

    • Trail UpdateVogel Flats Loop-This trail is best done as a downhill run. We started the loop at the Trail Cyn/Gold Cyn trailhead aprox 3 miles before the Vogel flat trailhead. Park on Big Tujunga cyn rd and head up the fire road. Take the left gated road about 1/3 mile up and climb the Gold cyn rd on the Yerba Buena ridge. Connect to the Yerba Buena trail about 3 miles up and head east to the Mendenhall Ridge Fire rd. Continue east to Indian Ben Saddle where Trail Cyn comes up to meet the road. Take Trail Cyn down to where it forks to Vogel flat trail to Condor Peak. This is where the real fun begins. This trail has it all and is in great condition. A few hike-a-bike sections, switchbacks, speed runs and beautiful vistas. There is lots of exposure with gnarly arse drop offs so keep your eyes on the trail. When you reach Big Tujunga, ride aprox 3 miles back to your car.
