Hurkey XC Race May 13, etc.
Anyone doing this one?

Looks like a great course. It's an AMBC race so you can qual for Mammoth.
I couldn't make it to Firestone because of another soccer tournament I had to coach and ref. How was the race? It was hot and muggy in Bakersfield so I'd guess it was the same. Hope you all did well as usual. Those double barrel ales are tasty after a hard ride!

I'd like to do 12 hours of Temecula June 10 if anyone's interested in 2 or 3 man team. I'm riding pretty strong right now so if the 47 year old thing bothers you, it's not an issue.

Any of you road guys doing Heartbreak DC May 27th? Let me know. If you need a place to stay the night before, I live just down the street from the start and have lots of room. I've done this one for the last 4 years and it's a great one. Hope to see you there.

Hey there F...I'm thinking of heading to Hurkey this weekend. Are you racing? Have you found a team mate for the 12 hr yet? Just wondering...I may be interested now that I've gotten rid of my bronchitis. My schedule at work is changing somewhat, so I may be able to hook-up with you and/or STP some time soon for a ride. Let me know...hope you get to race soon. I'm glad you're not in my category, you must be chomping at the bit!

      Hi Jim,

My son got selected to run 800m and mile at an invitational meet on Saturday so I won't be at Hurkey. Yeah I know, it's always one excuse or another. Only thing I'm doing for sure (since I paid) is the Heartbreak double. If I can find someone to ride the 12hr I'll do that since June 10th is open for me. So far no takers though.

A guy that works here and I'd like to hit the Tehachapi's (or anything else around here) after work but don't know any trails up there. It'd be great to meet up and ride with you. Let me know when you have some time.

I can't make up my mind whether to do 6 races in the remaining state series or do Rim Nordic (that stage race sounds cool). Now that Mammoth has been cancelled it seems pointless to do an AMBC race (Idyllwild this weekend), but I really like that area. SO, who knows what I'll do. Tehachapi is all private land and unless you're a moto-head or equestrian nut there aren't a lot of places to ride (though I've made some connections that I'm trying to get some riding privileges hammered down). If/when you get to the Bako area we should do a canyon run. I've got a trail with an unbelievable climb where we can ride right back to my door step. Another ride is Keyesville down river to Delonegha bridge (almost all s/t about 21 miles). And then there's the Alta Sierra/Johnsondale/Cannel area, sheesh! Bring STP so I can chase you guys all day and get the flogging I need!
I've been itching to go do Mt.Wilson/Redbox/Gabrieleno/JPL now for awhile as well...let me know if you get some time.

Hey F...did you race this weekend? If so, how'd it go? There's a road ride going on in Tehachapi on Sat AM if you want to go. 36 and 60 miles, with two big climbs thrown in. Check out the SSFTA web site, there's a pdf file there about the ride...I'm pretty sure I'm going to attempt the 60 miler (it will be longest continuous ride ever...) FYI

I think I smell; no-one wanted to ride with me.

I emailed you a bit ago.

I heard that race was an arse kicker. It took my buddy 4 hrs to finish and he is a pretty strong rider.

Looked like a tough course and I'm really bummed I missed it. Rim Nordic the 25th - see you there?
I finally got the SWorks race worthy, not sure about the legs tho.

So, THIS is what it sounds like when a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it!
