Take the Santa Margarita exit off Highway 101 in San Luis Obispo County. Follow the signs to head toward Santa Margarita Lake on Pozo Road. Go 14 miles to River Road and turn left. Go almost 2 miles. You'll see the parking on the left at N35°18.989, W120°25.073. Parking fee in November '05 was $6

- Easy ride for most. The road winds through hills paralleling the Lake to your south. There are some cool rock formations. There are some old milemarkers on this road that used to be the main one out to Pozo before the Lake was built in 1941.
