 Mt Wilson.....YIKES
Nightmares become reality.

Another guys post. Be warned. This happened to my car at the top of Mt. Wilson road by the trailhead on saturday. I actually showed up just as the dude was finishing up. It was just after sundown and I chased him into the woods but couldn't catch him.

Where did you park??

I don't know names but its at the top of Mt. Wilson Rd after you turn off the Angeles Crest Highway. About halfway to all the antennas and radio towers there's a turnoff where everybody parks to start their downhilll runs. On the right side is a gate and the fire road that leads to the tunnel. I was parked across the street against a little stone wall right next to the road. I was the unfortunate last car in the lot.

now, that soocks :~0 ... darn tweakers!!!

same happened all summer at kanan's parking lot, it took them months to catch the preecks, 2 to 3 broken windows/ransaked vehicles every weekend. they finally got them and it's been good since then.

Glad it wasn't your bikes. Only a fifty deductible on vandalism, for most policies. Really messes with your head though. Sorry you have to go through that kind of cr@p. Gus

Hopefully he's lost in the woods or plunged down a cliff, and yes I do mean that! I could think of another fate but it'd be in bad taste at the moment to suggest it. You just don't F*CK with sonmeone's car in the forest, especially in winter!

I was so furious when I came back to my car to find both the windshield and side window shattered. That was last year on Big Tujunga. It's bad enough you can't park in front of your own home without this happenning. Fortunately I had nothing in my truck worth stealing. But they also got a nice old guy's car at the same time.

    Animals!

Funny you mention this. Eaton Saddle is NOT a safe place to just go running off into the woods - cliffs EVERYWHERE! The only safe escape routes are the Lowe Road, the Valley Forge Trail, or either way on the pavement. A stake-out would be really easy here.

To bad the cougars didn't eat the thief. Little punk arses. It would be a whole lot of fun to roll up on one of those fu#@ers and catch them in the act of breaking the window or rear dash.

Thank goodness for the shuttles to the top. All though the last few times I parked my G ride up at that same Turnoff to start the Mt. Lowe DH run. Darn fockers!

That really sucks! Fookers! Someone should forward this to the ranger station up there. Maybe in between writing up those ridiculous tickets for not having an Adventure Pass they could actually do something useful to prevent this $hite from happening.

You just never know who's planning on day-tripping to Mt. Wilson on the weekends anymore. I strongly doubt it was a pro; a pro would not drive 30 minutes up the road in the hopes of finding 1-2 cars parked at a remote location.

Two ways you can avoid this…
    1. Don't leave a car parked at the top, hence climb-up with your bike.
    2. If you must shuttle, park your car @ Red Box where it would be much more visible.

Diablito, you're a bigger idiot then the guys that did this. Can you please stop promoting your illegal patty-wagon shuttle service!

There are no illegal shuttles anymore, that was way back in late 02 and the beggining of 03. I think your confusing my response with something else. Read my words it is shut down. No more, Zilch, nada, Fin

No, no Pete, what they really want is the bad-ass FoMoCo unit I have in 93' Escort Wagon, with the blown speakers. My car is such a plain vanilla POS that nobody in their right mind would want to break in it. I usually leave my undies on the dash and the frame arms on my Thule rack pointed straight up. So it looks like a "stink-bug" on the defensive.

Thats really f*%$&d up man, because they know you're going to be gone for awhile so they take advantage of it by parting out your Honda so they can sell or swap stuff with their stupid jobless bros.

Sometimes I wonder if the fatcat mobile will ever get broken into with the "hey lookit me with the stupid bike rack" parked near an entrance.

Sorry bro, that that mishap happened to you.
