Road Message Board

 going long distance, need a road bike - what kind?
hey there folks, i'm going on my first ever bike tour this summer, destination still unknown (likely from top of ny to bottom of dakota) and i'm looking to invest in a road bike.

i don't know exactly what kind of road/touring bike i should be looking at really, and i also don't know the difference btwn a touring bike and a road bike.

my price range starts at $500.

any suggestions?
