hey sup dis is joe and if you really want some GOOD jumps from dirt you find some nice dirt to start off wit and dig a hole to get the sand then make the jump over tha hole and you don't need to put water on it every 4 fours only once or twice just to shape it well g2g 4 now g2g means got 2 go

start by building a small mound and keep building layers over and over until you have the right size, than water lightly and wait till it is covered in grass so it won't wear down quickly.

Find some dirt. Pile up dirt about 3 feet high because when you shape it it will be about 2 feet high. On the top of the jump don't round it too much, but just about the roundness of a baseball or else you wont know where to pull up on the jump. Also put some logs or large rocks under your jump

  •  Re: Small Bike Jumps
All this crap about type of dirt doesn't really matter all you need is to dig a hole off to the side of your track. Take the dirt from this hole and pile it in the middle of your track. If you want hard jumps but want to wait to jump them water it down a little but if ya just gotta jump it pack it with your foot or use a compacter like me. take a flat head shovel and stand behind your now compact pile of dirt and move the shovel down to the ground creating a smooth curve pile the excess dirt on top. The landing ramp is crucial if you are making a rythum but basically pile dirt like you did for the jump behind it and compact.

      •  Re: Small Bike Jumps
To make a good wood jump, first you need to know about what size to make it. this depends on your skill, and what you want to use it for. basicly you get all your wook from the dumpsters in the new nabourhoods that they are building, most wood they throw out only has a nail or two in it that they were to lazy to take out. once you got your free wood, set two 2x4's paralel with each other as wide as you want your jump. then screw in 2 cross peices makeing a box. add 2 legs to the front end to make it a jump, then hammer on a piece of plywood to finish it off. the plywood should stick out past the 2x4's on the aproach side a bit, so that its right next to the ground. If you want to make the jump higher or lower, just change the length of the 2 legs. hope this helps

Hey man, all these people are talkin about complex ways to make large jumps. But all you want is hardly a 2 hour effort solid 3 foot jump. So all you need to do, is find yourself some premium dirt, and if you dont have enough, use something else as your base, just as long as its strong. Water it once a week for like a month. Make sure your take-off is long and fast enough to get you to pretty quick speed. If your jump isn't satisfying, try putting a nice 9 x 5, or any other pretty large piece of plywood on the front, which should be curved, make sure the plywood is pretty curved. Put the plywood leading up to the lip, then cover the sides of it with dirt. If you do it all right, you should have a pretty decent jump. Make sure the center of the plywood showing. Since dirt is really soft, it is dificult to keep getting really good lift, and it will ware down fast, but the plywood has a hard surface, with longterm lifespan. providing you with more response and a greater deal of air. Make sure your jump is somewhat bent though, less angle than a 1/4 pipe, but more angle than a kicker ramp. Good luck fellaz, rip it up.

I'd start by getting a location, try to find an area big enoguh so you can get the right amount of speed. I built my bike park in my back yard where i have a 25 foot hill, so you might want to try and find a spot with a hill. Then youve got to get a lot of dirt. Just start building it up untill it is at the height you want. I suggest putting about a foot of dirt on the lip and pack it, keep doing this untill your at the height. FOr the landing ramp just do the same thing. The lip should have a nice curve in it so it shoots you high into the air and not forward, the landing ramp should be flat and sloping gradually. Make sure you dont make the gap to big or youll crash.

hey i got some tips for you that 1 of my buddies (owner of FBM bikes) showed me. Make a decent legnth pile of dirt about 3 feet high. If you can find some clay to use. Make sure yuo dont put any thing underit like rocks, ect. Use a small amount of water while making it, then add some more water to the jump every 3- 4 days. Hope you have fun and keep ridin!

IF you want some nice jumps get a barell ( if able to) a rounded shovel and a flat shovel first dig up some dirt with the round shovel and put it in a pile were you want the jump then with the flat shovel pack it down real good and water it down just a bit then put a little dry dirt on that and pack it then with the barrel if u have one roll it up and down the pile to give it the shape the get ur bike and roll the front tire up and down it to get it nicely packed and shaped the with one of those wide brooms sweep all the rocks out the way and just ride and ride and it will eventually get a hard layer on top or if u want when making the jump mix a little concrete (just a little) and it will get hard and stay hard

YO THIS JUMP WORKS SO GOOD I JUMPED MY FRIEND WHO IS 5'2 STANDING. get a a fat log that like when u cut up a tree so its like 2 feet in diameter. stand the log so that it would roll put put dirt at the bottom so it doesnt and layer about half a foot of good dirt and put another log on top thats like half a foot and layer on top of it. you want to have a nice curve and lip so roll your front tire on it for a while and pour a small amount of water on it for like the first day and dont ride it. THIS JUMP IS WORTHWHILE BECAUSE IT LASTS FOREVER.this jump is also extremely sturdy.

How me and my cousin build the perfect jump is you find a good place that has alot of dirt you test out the dirt then you get a good mound of dirt goin the you piss on it then you form a nice lip out of the dirt then once it dries out you take one more pee on it then some of the chemicals in your piss will make the takeoff the jump smooth and tight and if that doest work drizzle some dry dirt over it to fill in soem of the cracks to make the jump stronger
