 Peninsula Trail Report

Some random trail condition musings (from the past 2 weeks), in no particular order...

-Skeggs is in soupy shape. Steam Donkey is all focked up from the recent rains, but Manzanita and Resolution are in better-than-summer shape. Avoid ECdM creek for a while in both directions.

-DMC is handling the rain better than I expected. Bullwinkle is a little tweaked, and will now launch you straight up, so I'd take the right-side option for the time being. Transmission + the rest of the pack are in good shape, as is the pump-track, both pretty dry. There are a few new hits that people have been wearing in around Rocky + Bullwinkle. One of 'em is huge.

-Pacifica is a mess. Don't even think about 'scout until March.

-Lower Canyon trail (between Steven's Cyn + Grizzly) in Montebello is in good shape. Lower Table mountain ST, not so much. Best to stay off it for a while until it dries out. Grizzly Flat FR is in good shape, but most of the connectors up top are closed for the winter.

-Alpine Rd. has tons of that snotty, greasy stick-to-your-tires mud. I'd resist riding both the FR and ST for a while.

That's it for right now.

Great however unsupervised swimming is accessible in a few areas. Cyprus Lake has a shallow shoreline. A 30-minute stroll from the Head-of-Trails parking garage gets you to Indian Head Cove and the Grotto. Write My Assignment For Me. This complicatedly cut rough shoreline is extremely prevalent with swimmers who like cool, profound water.
