 Mt. St. Helena, Napa Ca.
I am trying to get info on riding up Mt St Helena. I know that there is a trail from Robert Louis Stephenson St park, but that starts at 2200 feet. I am looking for a trail from the base of the mountain. Any suggestions would help. I've called the St. pks dept but there not sure. Thanks. MB

Recommend starting at the parking area for Robert Louis Stevenson. But if you are hardy..... Start in Calistoga where Silverado Trail and Highway 29 meet. This is Oathill Mine Road. It is steep, technical , an old wagon trail. Go up 5 miles ish to Holmes Place. There is a sighn (brown) showing another trail, heading northwest (no bikes legally) that crosses the Palisades to the RLS parking area. Then you can cross Highway 29 aka Lake County Highway and ride up Mt. St Helana proper.
