Franklin Mountains State Park Trail - El Paso

If you are comming in from the west on I-10 get off on the Transmountain Dr. exit heading North towards the Mountain for about 1.5 miles. The park entrance is on the left and you cant miss it. All of this is on El Paso's West side so if you are comming in from the East you will have to drive through town staying on I-10 all the way. The park offers several trails ranging from beginner to advanced. Very rocky terrain as these are the Rocky Mountains. Splendid scenery and lots of snakes. Take plenty of water between March and September as the heat will do a number on you. Park opens at 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Inquire will local shops as to night rides with the borderland mountain biking association. Cost is 2.00 per bike and 2.00 per person unless you are a member of the MBA in which case it is just 2 bones.
