Socal - Los Angeles County - Pacific Palisades NickNames: #PaseoMiramar
Take P.C.H. off of the 10 Frwy W. and make a right at Sunset. Go up Sunset and take a left at the first signal. Park on this street (there's plenty of parking in the mornings). Once you saddle-up, head back down Sunset (towards the beach) and make the first right on Paseo Miramar. Follow the yellow lines up the street. This paved street climbs up for about 1.5 miles and dead ends at the Paseo Miramar fire gate (kinda steep too...). Go through the gate and continue upwards.. Thomas Guide page 630 G5
veiws were still spectacular. i reccomend riding up to eagle junction, taking the trail to your right, passing eagle springs and turning down from the hub to michael lane (there is a sighn that indicates the trail). then after that descent turn right down michael ln (i live there by the way) and onto palisades drive to sunset and paseo mirmar to your car.

Decided to inflict a little pain upon myself this morning by heading up Paseo. Up the blacktop, onto the freshly graded dirt the traction was supreme. Cold air pinching my lungs I made it to the top and turned down the super sweet Green Monster.
The rain had made a small new rut down the middle right at the very top which made me cringe at the thought of how the bottom must look. Cruising in and out, left and right I came upon the knife edge section which I dismounted my last time down. We're talking about 4 inches wide for about 15 yards. Sketchy. But that was in August when speed was ruled by dry, slippery, fast dirt and any sideways lean would skid you right into the lagrer ruts on either side. The grip was insane this time, no dismount, "I'm goin' in!". Controlling speed beautifully, I felt good about half way in, and then...like a scene from the movie "San Andreas Fault" the Earth opened up beneath me and swallowed me whole. I went into the left side rut, my bike into the right one.
Onward down this mother I came upon "the speed bump", which is a rounded ledge, about a foot high, accross the line. Gave it a try but came up short again losing all momentum half way up. It's hard to describe why this spot is so weird.
Then into the bottom section where lies a sweet red sandstone-like section that is infested with deep ruts. I have tried at least 3 different lines into this spot with not much luck. This time I tried hard left all the way around the side. This gave a nice straight line perpendicular to most of the ruts. Presto! First time for everything.
Great ride, great views, cold air, a little blood, now I'm the only one in my entire office wearing a Halloween costume. What's wrong with these people?
