    • Trail UpdateLower Rock Creek Is Paradise-The description below is great. I don't know about the directions above. We exited at Lower Rock Creek Road, which is about 1/4 mile past the Tom's Place exit if you are traveling south on 395. This takes you right by the beginning of the trail. You continue down, then up, then down again on this road until you reach the town of Paradise. Park anywhere near the creek. We rode back up the road, and then down the trail. It really wasn't that bad, about 2,000 feet of climbing, all on paved road. Took us a little over an hour. A lot of people shuttle it, although it is not really an ideal run for a downhill bike, as there are substantial portions of climbing. A bike with 4-5" of travel would be ideal anyway. The ride down is simply amazing. Gotta be one of the top trails I have ever ridden. Although I didn't do it (my first time on it), this trail is completely rideable. It is fairly technical, but just enough to make it challenging, while at the same time very fun. I will remember for the next time that the rock sections you come to have neat little rock ramps built down the other side. If I knew the lines, it could have been ridable the whole way. What a blast of a trail though!! I will ride it every time I am in Mammoth, so long as there is no snow!

    • Trail UpdateLower Rock Creek-Rode Lower Rock Creek Memorial weekend. Beautiful ride.
Out of the parking lot ride uphill on the paved road, get used to it, cause you will be climbing this for about 8 miles. When HWY 395 comes into view, their will be a trail to the right marked Lower Rock Creek MTB Trail. Prepare for some great single trk. You will ride along the creek for the whole way down. After about 2 miles down you will come upon the rode you just climbed, go up the road for about 150 ft, you will find the trail again, follow it for another mile or so. Once again you will cross the road again. Now if your not comfortable with rocks and scree you can bail here and take the road back to your car, otherwise stay on the trail, you will come across some rocky areas, nothing to bad. It will come in streches, believe me its all worth it, to do this much single track. Follow the trail down as it winds through forest. Plenty of shade through out. You will cross the creek over bridges a few more times. At about 16 miles the road widens to Dbl Trk, follow it down back to your car.
So much fun I had to do it a few times.
      Enjoy
