Thanks, the rear hub is a Rohloff 14 speed, the frame was made for it with OEM dropouts and an eccentric bottom bracket. I was worried about creaking at the bottom bracket but after about 1500 miles it's absolutely silent even if standing while climbing. The front hub is a Schmidt dyno that powers the rear fender light and the lower front light, both are LED so no problems with ever burning out. With the low resistance of the dynohub I leave those lights on most of the time and turn the HID on just when I need it. The SKS/ESGE fenders are aluminum sandwiched between two layers of plastic, keeps me from getting a back stripe on the rare occasion that it rains and they really help keep dirt off of everything. I really like the low maintenance of the drivetrain considering the amount of weekly mileage that it gets and the Tubus lowrider front racks are real nice. I prefer to ride to work without a camelback and the one pannier has plenty of room. This bike is about perfect for what I'm using it for, getting to work and back.

A few larger pictures if you want ...

Ahhh, No Surf Beach. I remember rock crawling there on a big bike. Pretty fun. Are there still jumps down at the sand wall?

The only jumps that I knew about were at Garbage and they weren't that great, mainly just for 20 inchers.

Sweet! It's got all the goodies on it.

I've been communting on an old Bianchi Cross bike I bought at the Velodrome swapmeet - it's been really great.

Where did you get this? I don't know of anyone around town selling Thorns.

The frame, forks and seat post came from SJS cycles in England. Everything else was from various other internet merchants. BikeUSA.com for the Rohloff hub, PeterWhitecycles for the Schmidt SON 28 hub and lights, Nashbar for the bags, etc...
