I recently bought a new moutain bike from Simi Cycling Center and I will say my experience was the exact opposite of Marcus. All the staff greeted me politely, took plenty of time to answer my questions and point me to the correct bicycle for my needs and budget. Ryan @ Simi also informed me of the other needs for really enjoying cycling like shorts, jerseys etc. and explained how/why they work. I recommend this shop to anyone, they are super knowledgeable, have a great selection and are kinda famous. Victor, Scott and others are in Mountain Bike Action magazine quite often.

Simi Cycling Center - We Don't Care and It Shows

I've lived in simi over 20 years and bought bikes/parts and had service work done for the last 10 at simi cycling center. The shop was excellent until it was bought out. Now when i go in there they don't know anything, they dont have anything and cant order anything unless you're lucky enough to guess the exact date and time they'll be putting in for shipments. I was there today and was apparently annoying the sales guy by trying to purchase things. He could barely bring himself to answer my questions or find the things i needed all while rolling his eyes.

When it came time to pay he lied and told me my VIP membership had expired even though i bought pedals there using the membership benefits the month before with no problem. The final blow was when he asked if i wanted a bag. I said sure and he got a bag, laid it on the counter without bothering to pack my items that i had just given him money for and then handed me my receipt and walked away.

This shop and their attitude is exactly why everyone is buying on the web nowadays. I whole heartedly believe in supporting businesses in my community, but this is one that does not belong here. There are other shops in the area that are very nice to everyone and almost always have items stocked. I'd suggest looking there.

Awesome Shop, biggest in town and have the best selection of Mountain bikes period. Like Lee said, they are always doing demo days. They have the best selection of bike and stuff around, and the new owners actually like their customers. New life in a good ole shop.

This is hands down the best shop around. The service is top notch and they're friendly. They have a great inventory and even do things for the customers like the demo day they did last week at Wood Ranch.

Check 'em out.

This shop is totally lame when it comes to the prices of the double wall rims and other stuff related to that! I think if they want me to stay a customer, they should lower there prices. This makes me so angry that they have such high prices!

Purchased a Specialized SJ from this shop. They were friendly, and efficient. Everything you want from a store, especially when dropping a boatload of money. Gave a reasonable discount on a current year bike and staff seemed knowledgeable on what they were doing (sales and service). I would go back.

This shop is centered around a world class cyclist, Butch Stinton. He is very knowledgeable about bike fit and components, and his pricing always seems to very competitive.
