Great service, great friendly atmosphere...the best part is the prices. They will match prices with anyone and they will give discounts based on the amount of stuff you buy. Best bike shop in the south bay/la county.

Impressive...the sales people were very Knowledgeable and were more determined to sell me what I need rather than the more expensive item. I shopped around at about 4 other shops and bikecology's prices were by far the lowest and if they werent the new managers/owners did everything they could to make them lower. Also the shops selection was impressive from 100.00 kids to 4,000.00 mtn bikes and everyone was equally Knowledgeable about those and everything in between.

Bikecology of Torrance has been under new management for more than a year now. Danny the owner is a rider-bikes and street bikes. All the sales assoc. are honest kids that love bikes, mtb mostly. The mechanic is Dave, headhunted from a specialized shop and there are no mexicans there...the prices beat out everyone, they will match performace on anything and I just bought my third mtb there, giant trance x2, blew away everyones price, including everyone on mtbr.com. All of you need to go back and see the new, improved bikecology...they only care about customers, trust me.

yes,
I used to be a mechanic at this shop when they had adequate management and well above average mechanics, unfortunately the south bay has succumbed to an influx in border people, were there norm is in the field picking whatever.

This shop was 1 of the best shops i went to. It had all the parts i needed for my bike. I have bought myself a bike from here once before. The mechanics are very nice and they know what they are doing.

I guess I wasn't spending enough money 'cuz
these guys really didn't want to take 3 minutes
to sell me a bike. Maybe I will go to Mexico and
buy a bike from people who have an excuse
for not speaking English

Good warm-hearted mechanics. the only problem with the place are the white-supremicist customers who complain about "the Mexicans workers".

My experience has been with the chief mechanic Juan. He is fast, direct and gets the job done well. His English is fine. If you go at peak business times, you will be frustrated so don't go then.

The original lower cost items on my bike broke, Juan suggests higher cost parts .... they don't break.

The manager/? owner ?Arthuro is helpful and profit oriented, but this is a business.

I've read other reviews in regards to the prices and so called sales and I agree. The sales are almost every other shops regular price. However, I felt that the service was good and they had a fair amount of variety. -Albert (Mexican)

I can't imagine someone ragging on a mechanic for not speaking
English well enough. Anyway I know the guys in the shop at the
Torrance Bikecology and they are good people. It's the smoking
manager who ruined this place. When Sonny was there it was a
happy shop. Well run, and the customer could get a deal now
and then. This smoker seems the wrong type to be in a bike
shop and he is too cheap to know that a deal will bring folks
back. But there's a lot of dough in the area and I guess they
don't need that many repeat customers.
I'd give it 1 link but for the guys in the back add 2.

Ok, so this shop isn't the greatest. But they do give very fast service, and a overall helpful. The mechanics can exibit a bad attitude, and don't communicate well at all (except with other mexicans) all. Just have a look at the shop before you leave service, and you decide. (I've heard that a messy work space can be a bad thing!!)

Purchased an on sale*****$85.00 scooter. It broke the day of purchase. Owner claimed, you bought it you own it, no refunds. That was a little hard to swallow, but I had to since he did not want to even talk about it. Kind of a shoddy way of doing business.
Trying to communicate with the repair department was difficult since I don't speak spanish.

Be careful in this store. I noticed that every bike is on sale all the time. when I called around there sale prices were other shops regular price. The guys in the service dept. barely speak english. The sales person was nice, but the owner seemed kind of sleazy. He was smoking a cigarette in his office. I just had to leave.

I just purchased my first muuntain bike from these guys. I was not impressed with the service. These guys are in it for the Money. Every time I looked at something they would point out the higher priced equipment for instance I wanted to get a water bottle holder. I was looking at one that was 6 bucks they were pointing out a chintzy looking 9 dollar model. It was pink and had a plastic molding. And it was just not well constructed.
I wasnt even fitted to my bike. They just sold it to me. Luckily I never do anything unless Iam sure about it. So I took my bike to a bike shop and got some very good help fitting it to me. They didnt even mention that I would need to be fitted. At least they got one the right size for me.
Unfortunatly since I am new to this sport They sort of caugth me off guard. But now I am wiser and I can tell a good shop from a bad one. And this one is bad.
