If your are in a jam and need a repair Van's is still awesome. Sure Van's doesn't have all the high end stuff it used to, but their section of NoHo isn't what it used to be either. The one thing Van's still has, is great and affordable service. I was there at the end of December '04 getting a friend's head set replaced and Van is still as friendly and knowledgeable as ever. |
If your one of those who weighs the value of a shop by shiny parts, go to SuperGo and drool to your hearts content. However, if you value great friendly service, Van's is a place worth 5 links.

Small Bike shop with parking in the rear. Has limited low end gear. Van himself runs the place and is very knowledgable and friendly. A bit on the pricey side, but very good service. Very limited selection of bikes (mostly low end non brand names). Has what seems like an outdated work area. If you need tubes, or other accessories, this place is ok. For high end stuff, find another shop.
