 Pt. Mugu State Park(Sycamore Canyon)
Is it open. I went there last week and the gate was locked on the valley side. Sorry to post the question here. I live In Santa Clarita and don't want to drive all the way out there to be turned around again...
Thnx,
Rich

Huh? What gate? It's always open. Ride on.

You may have gone to the State Park parking area which can be gated however that is not where I park so I can't tell you if it is ever closed. Here are some directions for another parking area but there are no restrooms.

Exit the 101frwy at Wendy and go South (towards the coast), the road will T/end at Protrero Rd in approx 2miles and park right there. There are no gates and this is a popular staging area so you should see other trail users.

That's were I always park. As you ride pass the Indian huts and continue on the paved road right before it ascends into the caynon, that's were this gate is. I heard it was/or is closed because of fire dangers, or the park people are planning on having a control burn. I don't know.

      Thanks for replying.
