 Digital Camera Suggestion
My wife won't let me take her Canon G5 out with me on our local epics. Any suggestions on an "equal" quality cam that can fit in a Camelback cell-phone pocket? The pictures some riders post here are awe-inspiring to say the least. Thanks in advance for any advice...JIM

Get a Canon S50 or S45, great quality pictures and a lot smaller then a G5. I had an S50 and took it on all my rides. Movie mode is sweet too.

Leica sells this same camera (co-developed w/ Panasonic) w/ a slightly different case design for around $800. This camera can be found for $300 new. Aluminum case, digital and optical zoom, 3.2 mp., small.

I agree with mtb2x2 that a Canon would be a good way to go. I have the super compact Canon s230 (3.2 MP $275) and have used it for over a year mountian biking and snowboarding with no problems. It takes good pics and movies up to 3 minutes with sound. I previously had the 2.0 MP version of the camera an I logged 2+ years of trail miles with no problems. The s45 (4mp $375) and the s50 (5mp $400) would be a good option too if you are looking for more megapix.

Several of the smaller powershots have waterproof housings you can buy for them, also, which is pretty cool if you want to take it near/in the water.

Try the Fuji F700. I'm a Canon guy but you cant beat this Fuji. Compact, shoots multiframes - sequence shots AND its 6 megapixel!!! Take a look at it, I think it'll be worth your time.
