 New Trails Being posted?
Have any new trails been added to this site? i was wondering because i have posted several new trails that haven't been posted? Was there something that I may have done wrong, or have any of you others had the same problem. I know of a couple more trails to add, but I do not yet want to waste time filling the form out. To steve at socalmtb.com, please let me know what is going on if anything. I am just curious, because posting some new rides leads to more and more miles of biking excitement

Please continue to post updates,,I also live in Santa Clarita and have made it a habit of riding only 1-2 of my favorite trails due to not knowing current contitions of other trails in area. I usually have only enough time for 2-3 rides per week. Knowing what's good and what's not is very helpful. Thanks, Rich.

Here is a UrL for some rides in SCV.
      http://www.scvresources.com/bicycling/mtntrail.htm

on the site it gives great descriptions of trails in Towsley Canyon along with a couple others. One of the proposed trails they say is the Golden Valley trail which is one of the trails I have tried to add to this site and have not been successful at. this starts from the golden valley park & ride. I also know about unposted rides like Weldon Canyon, santa Clara divide, and a trail near bear divide ranger station to soledad canyon (4n06). I am also out to explore trails in Tick Canyon (Shadow Pines) and Elsmere Canyon via the Viper.

On this site, read reviews for San Fernando Viper, Los Pinetos, Wilson Canyon, May canyon, Towsley Canyon, as well as the Santa Clara Divide.

Does anyone know if the webmaster for this site is accepting review on new trails? I have proposed some and haven't seen any new trails added to the menu in a while.

Go Canyon High Football!!! Rip Hart apart tonight!!!

Yeah- the ScV resources site listed here is good, but is still being somewhat developed. Does anyone out there know if the add-a-trail feature on this website? Also check out my favorite rides of the area on this site: Indian Canyon and San Fernando Viper.

Indian Canyon is on the east end of Santa Clarita near Soledad Canyon Rd. and Agua Dulce Canyon Rd. It is a forest service road from Soledad Canyon (near Shambala animal reserve and Robin's Nest Rv Park just about 8 miles from Soledad and Shadow Pines. The other other end of the trail can be reached from by Magic Mountain (the real mountain, which has communication towers on top). To get to Magic Mountain from Santa Clarita, take the 14 freeway north to Sand Canyon Rd and take take Sand Canyon south past Placerita Canyon to Little Tujunga Canyon which continues as a climb up some hills in the edge Angeles Forest to Bear Divide Ranger station. There is a map here with info on the forest. From Bear Divide, take the Santa Clara Divide Rd. east signed for Mt. Gleason, Messenger Flats, and Indian Canyon. After taking this paved divide rd for about 7 miles, you'll reach Magic Mountain where the road turns to dirt. The road will descend for about 2 miles with a little climbing where it reaches the other end of Indian Canyon. Indian Canyon is about 8 miles one way, 10 from Magic Mountain. Check out the review for Indian Canyon on this site as well as the topo link for the entry.

Which trails have you ridden around here?

          Hey Steve K,
Whats the terrain like in these trails you mentioned above?I used to live in CC right up the street from the high school (Nadal St), but never rode the area.Is there shade or is it a lot of fireroad type of stuff? Water or stream crossings? Is it part of a national forest?I've also posted some trails that didn't make it here for some reason. It's pretty much a one man show and maybe he just doesn't have time to check out the info or whatever it takes to make a new trail listing.Maybe save the info and re-enter it again at a later date?
BTW, How'd the CC football do against those Newhall boys?

The trails here are ok, but mainly fireroad kind of stuff. Los Pinetos (in Placerita Canyon) and some trails in towsley canyon are good singletracks, but the towsley trails are all burnt. For trail info, see the links in above posts. I particularly enjoy the nearby trails because of the views of Santa Clarita Valley and San fernando valley. For different terrain, I enjoy Indian Canyon, Fall Canyon, Condor Peak, Mt. Gleason area rides which basically are in the north end of Angeles forest. The Los Pinetos/Placerita area, owned by the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy has some good terrain but limited shade. I do not know of any trails north of Santa Clarita though.

In the recent game, I am ashamed to admit CC football got ripped by Hart 56-21. Just happy I'm not on the team. I'm more of a bando at the school.

Yes, you can add a trail by going to the trails section and clicking on Add-A-Trail. If you have any trouble let me know.

        To Steve @socalmtb-
I have done add-a-trail before and it says to wait a week until the postmaster reviews it. But after waiting I never found it posted. Perhaps, this was before the update. I'll try again.

P.s. the trails i'm trying to add are titled Golden Valley, Santa Clara Divide (west & east ends), Weldon Canyon, and East Canyon. Keep up the great work with this site Steve- I know you're busy.

I clicked on add-a-trail about 1 week ago and submitted Golden Valley Trail. Nothing has happened.

I guess I should speak up, having just found this site...

I am the one that runs the site at scvresourcs.com

I am very sorry for not having added more trails onto the site in the past, I just get busy.

Anyway, now that I am done moving, I can add trails. All I need to do so is a basic description of the trail, mileage if possible, and anything else you can come up with. I'll add it. It isn't automatic, just takes me a while.
