 Trek 770??
Anyone know anything about this approximately 13 year
old model? Steel lugged frame, Campy components,
old school non-index shifters on the tube! Very good
condition...is it worth keeping? Can't tell if it was an
entry level road bike at the time or something slightly
better. Anyone in the know about Trek in 1989 or so?

I don't know a thing about it, but it sounds cool! Whipping it into prime shape and doing some rides on it would be great. It's fun to take an older bike and whoop ass with it! Or you could turn it into a really slick fixed-gear if you're really crazy. It sounds like a quality bike; even Campy's lower-end stuff has always been solid.

I think Trek had a 770 model up until 1986 or so (and may have reused the number for a hybrid later). Do you have a pic?

I had a trek 760 back in 86, top of the line durace equipped
reynolds 531c tubing, yours is the next one up or juss with campy so the 770, I was 16 years old back then and I kicked ass with that bike, keep it and restore it to original condicion, I have many nice memories with this bike, is worth keepin it, I wish I had kept the frame and fork, but I crashed and fix it but it was not the same so I got another bike and sold it, the durace group; I destroyed with the miles that I put on it, so you really had to put like 60,000 miles onto it to finish it.
