Chilao/Gabrielano and the old crew
I am looking for some of the old crew who use to post here on this site many moons ago. I use to post under the username "mtnbikebug" until it got jacked. I want to head up north to ride Chilao and the Gabrielano but I don't know my way around chialo all that well. I have only ridden it a few times and it was 10 years ago probably?
Usually I would hook up with some folks here and they would lead the way.
Some of the names I remember are JoeTruth, Gus, Tortuga, STP, and the infamous DaBreeze who is in AZ as far as I know? Anyway if any of you know who these guys are or are will to host me on a ride at Chilao and the Gab tomorrow please let me know.

Hi, Mike...
Sorry, can't do any guide service tomorrow. I think the lower part of Gab (below Switzers) has been destroyed. Upper part may still be rideable. Chilao is in good shape, but may have a dusting of snow in places.
As for the Old Gang (I'm TK, btw)... JoeTruth still posts at SoCalTrailRiders.org, and the others appear to have left the Internets for greener pastures. I think OldGringo and myself are the only old-timers that still pop up here.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I was just reading some stuff about damage to many of the trails up there from the fire and subsequet record rainfall. What a Gem that whole network was up there. I never got a chance to ride El Prieto and wished I had.
