For some pad and rim/rotor combinations, pad wear is excessively high. I need lots of input (both good and bad) so that this survey can become legitimate. As good as Disc brakes are, do they go through pads so fast that they become ungodly expensive? Do ceramic rims eat pads for lunch? I will assemble the information and post as soon as I have a large enough database. Please provide the following:
1 Bike 2 Brake type (V or disc, brand and model) 3 Pad type (brand and model) 4 Rotor or rim type (brand and model) 5 Ride time or miles between pad replacement (V or Disc) 6 Ride time or miles between caliper adjustment (Disc only) 7 Ride time or miles between bleeding brakes (Disc only) 8 Ride time or miles between V-brake adjustment at the brake handle (V only) 9 Typical miles in each ride 10 Rider weight 11 Percentage of times you have experenced brake fade during a ride for any reason 12 Are you a.) not satisifed b.) satisified c.) very satisifed with your choice of brakes and pads 13 Average price of replacement pads you pay per wheel 14 State or country in which you ride 15 Do your brakes change with changes in the weather? If so how? 16 General comments.

Yes, in snow and mud (snow especially), there is a reduction in gripping power 16. I like these pads, especially for OEM cartridges. 1-1998 Cannondale Super V 2000 FR 2-Magura Hydraulic V-Brakes HS-22 3-Magura Pads 4-Mavic X 517 SUP UB Rims 5-350+ Miles Pads not replaced 6- 7-Bleeding not needed at this time. 8-On the Fly adjusment depending on terrain. 9-10 Miles 10- 205 LB. 11-Never 12-C. 13-22.00$ Have not replaced pads. 14-SO-Cal. U.S.A. 15-No 16-Very Powerful V-Brake (One finger operation) with on the fly adjustment. No cabeles to stretch or adjust. No fade in wet condition, Hydraulic power push through water fast, No fade. Caution on steep decent, modulate rear brake to reduce heat to rim or you will blow tire off rim.
